This is a study in classical symbolism. Through her nakedness she shows that nothing is concealed, her staff represents knowledge and her holding a mirror aloft is clarity. This painting is made in tribute to the truth, especially through process of investigation and rigorous analysis. The background was first painted at Bournemouth Beach, then completed at the studio.
